Hi Tsedey! It’s amazing, just a couple of hours ago, I was walking down to the park where I met an elderly lady with her dog. She told me about Emperor Haile Selassie an extraordinary story: During his visit to Europe in the 1950s he was staying in a hotel, from where he saw a guy treating his dog with some respect. The Emperor was touched by this particular action that he sent someone to the guy with a small gift. Amazing!

I was at an African fair today in Brooklyn on my lunch break and came across a t-shirt with the photo of the Emporor touching the lion. Even though I really could not afford the shirt I was so intrigued by this picture I had to buy it. There is something so intense but calming at the same time happening in the moment caught on film, I can not stop thinking about it. What man has the courage to do this, and do it with a peaceful smile?I don’t know of any, especially today, but I’m truly glad that the photo exists, it gives hope of peace in the world. Just to know that this man is African royalty, that’s a whole nother story in it self. WOW!

@ Tariku
Touching story indeed! Thx for sharing!
I am a born german… so many mystical things happened during the visits of H.I.M to Germany…. i have the deepest respect for Haile Selassie I cause he’s the only one who is worthy to be called the Lion of Judah in this time. Sooner or later the whole world will realize that!
Great blog!
